James Kerr

James J. Kerr, Sr.—Chairman/Founder

James J. Kerr, Sr. founded AMCS in 1990.  He has been in the real estate business in Charleston for over 50 years.  He is originally from Charleston, SC and he is a Citadel graduate with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration, completed a course of study in real estate investments and management at Wharton Business School and has a South Carolina Real Estate Broker license. He is a member of member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church,  The Citadel Alumni Association, Knights of Columbus, and Executive Association of Greater Charleston (EAGC),  serves on the Star Gospel Mission Board, past member of Our Lady of Mercy Outreach Board, past chairman of The Citadel School of Business Administration Advisory Board, and the Barrier Island Free Medical Clinic Board . Mr. Kerr owns a construction company as well called Ironwood Rehab Construction, LLC and he was a founding member of the Harbor National Bank.  He and his wife have established a tuition assistance scholarship at The Citadel and Bishop England.  In his spare time, he enjoys gardening, racquetball, traveling, boating, and the grandchildren.

Jamie Kerr grew up in Charleston and graduated from the Citadel in 1991 with a BS in Business Administration where he was on the Citadel crew team. He has been with AMCS since 1992 and began management in the AMCS HOA department as a property manager. Jamie is President of AMCS, the broker-in-charge and holds a broker’s license for South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. He currently volunteers on the board of Communities in Schools where he was a past chairman. Jamie has served as a vestry member and warden of Grace Episcopal Church. He also previously served as a treasurer for the Coastal Police Chaplaincy. He has been a board member of the Southeastern Affordable Housing Management Association (SAHMA) since 2010 and is currently the Regulatory Chair. You can find him boating, fishing and swimming with the Palmetto Masters group.

Helen Hutson

Helen L. Postell Hutson, CMCA®, AMS®—Vice President

Helen L. Postell Hutson has been with AMCS for 18 years and running. She is a Charleston native, is a member of CAI (Community Association Institute), and holds a South Carolina real estate license, CMCA (Certified Manager of Community Associations), and AMS (Association Management Specialist) designations. Helen volunteers for the Charleston Habitat for Humanity. In her spare time, she enjoys kayaking, shooting skeet, hunting, fishing, crafts, and reading.

Amanda Heaton

Amanda L. Heaton, CMCA®—Community Association Management Assistant

Amanda Heaton is from Charleston, and has been with AMCS for 10+ years. She is a graduate of Trident Technical College with an associate's degree in computer science and holds certificates in web programming, microcomputer programming, and database. Amanda has experience in customer service/administrative, landscaping, and construction fields. She is a lifelong member of the Woodmen of the World. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, baking, sewing, and taking care of her family.

Rosalind Brown

Rosalind Brown—Accounts Receivables

Rosalind Brown has been with AMCS for 17 years. She is from St. George, South Carolina, and has an associate degree in accounting from Denmark Technical College. She enjoys traveling and singing in her church choir.

Debbie Himmelberger

Debbie Himmelberger—Accounts Payables

Debbie Himmelberger moved to the Charleston area from Tucson, Arizona, in 1999. She has been in property management since the late 1990s and has been with AMCS for almost 7 years. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her children and her grandson.

Vicki Webb

Vicki Webb—Account Manager

Vicki Webb is from Summerville, South Carolina, and has been with AMCS for 10 years.
